Grimm

Available on:  PC, iOS,

Grimm, also known as American McGee's Grimm, is a fairy tale based game from the creators of American McGee's Alice. It allows the player to tinker with the famous children's stories and subvert them.

Plot

The game consists of 23 episodes that were originally released weekly. Each episode is based on a different fairy tale by brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm (or, occasionally, by some other author). Every tale starts as a traditional sweet story for children until the main character, a dwarf named Grimm, interferes with the plot. Grimm tries to make the tales darker, grittier and bloodier, the way they used to be originally. As a result of his actions, the tales turn into deconstructions of their well-known plots. There's no more "happily ever after" for the Red Riding Hood, Snow White, or Cinderella, and Puss-in-Boots becomes a vile trickster.

Gameplay

The player assumes the role of Grimm. Everywhere the mischevious dwarf goes, he sends a wave of black magic that spoils everything around him. His goal is to convert the in-game objects and characters into their "dark" versions to alter the plots of the tales. The level of his power is measured by the Dark-O-Meter. The characters...

Shadow the Hedgehog is a platform video game developed by Sega Studio USA, the former United States division of Sega's Sonic Team, and published by Sega. A spin-off to the Sonic the Hedgehog series, the game features Shadow the Hedgehog as the main character, and was revealed at the March 2005 Walk of Game event. It was released for the GameCube, PlayStation 2, and Xbox video game consoles in November 2005.

Following the trend of contemporary Sonic games such as Sonic Adventure and Sonic Heroes, Shadow the Hedgehog is a 3D platform game; however, it also features third-person shooter elements. The missions completed determine the game's plot and subsequently playable levels, a feature referenced by the game's tagline. The plot centers on the attempt of Shadow, a creation of Doctor Eggman's grandfather, Professor Gerald Robotnik, to learn about his past while suffering from amnesia. To defeat enemies, Shadow can use various weapons and special attacks.

Shadow the Hedgehog received generally unfavorable reviews from critics. The game was criticized for its controls and dark themes, especially the addition...
